Dwarf goats are small versions of the standard sized, alpine type dairy
goat, looking very much a Saanen or an Alpine. However, there are
significant differences. They are so tiny that the Nigerian Dairy goat
makes the cutest pet. They don't give a lot of milk, compared to their
large cousins but it is very high in solids like protein and butterfat,
making it rich and delicious, superior for making ice cream, goat's
milk fudge and especially cheese. Nigerian Dwarf Dairy goats have been approved as true dairy goats by the 4-H and ADGA, so now even small children may participate in sanctioned goat shows. The Nigerian dairy goat is also a lot easier to take when he or she wants to sit on your lap. |
